Opportunities to Help Our Community in a Time of Crisis
MICA (Mid-Iowa Community Action) Food Pantry
MICA and they are in need of extra donations during this time. If you are financially able, please consider sharing some of your abundance with those in need. Because their immediate needs are so great at this point, they have asked for food first, monetary donations second (as monetary donations take longer to process and then purchase items and they can't wait as they need items now)! They are running a little low on everything but especially need toilet paper, peanut butter, tuna, canned chicken, and boxes of cereal. You can drop these items off at their site: 230 SE 16th Street; Ames, 50010.
Food at First
Food at First is in particular need of additional volunteers to help at the pantry and cook and serve meals. Sign up on their website here. Directions are available on the website to take you to the process. Some volunteers who have signed up are also not able to show, so drop-in help is also welcome.
