On this All Saints Sunday, we remember our sisters and brothers who have died in the past year as we thank God for them and witness to the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Ned Vifquain, Gordon Bultena, Anna Morrison, Don Martin, Jr., Phyllis Stewart, Helen Coe, Mary Virginia Frye, Robert Boeke, John W. Pinkerton, Holly Burkhalter, Dean W. Stebbins, Kathryn Tyler, Rev. Warren Joseph Frahm, H.R., and Olive Gauley.
 
On Sunday morning we will be blessed to receive the following new members:  Jacob Alexander, Jill Alexander, Beth Fleming, Kirsten Newman, Anne Volker, and Paul Volker.
 
Spiritual Formation for Children & Youth

Adult Spiritual Formation
 
• The Ninth Commandment, “You shall not bear false witness”, will be discussed Sunday at 10:15 a.m. in Upper Westgate, and again on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in Helser Chapel. Nile Ramsbottom will be leading the class.
 
• “For the Bible Tells Us So”, is a video which documents the experiences of five very normal, very Christian, very American families as they handle the realization of having a gay child. Interviews with the families are supplemented with commentary by Bishop Desmond Tutu, Harvard's Peter Gomes, Orthodox Rabbi Steve Greenberg and Reverend Jimmy Creech.  Sue Proescholdt will be leading this class on November 2 & 16 at 10:15 a.m. in Helser Chapel.
 
• The Tenth Commandment, “You shall not covet” will be lead by Whit on November 16 at 10:15 a.m. in Upper Westgate.
 
• There will be no Adult Spiritual Formation on November 9, 23 & 30, due to Consecration Sunday and the Thanksgiving holiday.
 
FALL LABOR OF LOVE REMINDER
It's that time of year again!
 Saturday, November 8th,
from 8 a.m.-Noon
Tasks will be raking leaves, general cleanup of the grounds around the church, and inside jobs.  Hope to see you there!  All help is appreciated, whether it be on the 8th or another date!  Sign-up lists are available in Sarah Barlow Lounge.

Please join us as we celebrate our lives together as members and friends of CPC on Consecration Sunday.  In a joint worship service we’ll be inspired by the Holy Spirit, turn in our pledges to the capital campaign, the Mission, and ministry budget, and follow with a meal together in good Christian tradition.  We want as many people as possible to join the fun, so plan to be there!  RSVP to the church office, or on the tear-off slips in the Sunday bulletins.  Child care will be provided.

The report of the PEW COMMISSION ON INDUSTRIAL FARM ANIMAL PRODUCTION has recently been receiving considerable attention in the media.  This report is available at www.ncifap.org  The recommendations of the report impact farm families, rural
community institutions, animal production industries and governments at various levels.
 
Dr. George W. Beran, Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State and the director of the College’s Veterinary Museum is assembling a team of informed spokespersons to serve on panels to share ideas and hear from the
audience.

Presbyterian Women will be having a soup luncheon Thursday, November 13 at 12:00 p.m., in Sarah Barlow Lounge. Cynthia Jenks, Lois Smidt, and Susan Greulich will be telling of ways in which Collegiate has been of help to others.   Thank offering will be dedicated, and Rummage allocations will be approved.  All are welcome to come for soup and fellowship.
 
Members of Caring Connection #3 are invited to a “Souper” Sunday Supper on November 16 at 5:00 in the Northcrest Community Fireside Room, 1801 20th Street. Please bring soup, bread, or a dessert to share. Also, please bring a food item for the Food Bank. We look forward to seeing you and your family!
