CPC has numerous wonderful opportunities for children to explore and expand their faith...
Workshop Rotation (Sunday Morning):
Held on Sundays from 10:15-11:05 a.m., our Kindergarten through fifth grade children enjoy learning about Bible stories as they experience the stories through a workshop rotation model of education. Based on Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, the model takes into account the effectiveness of teaching styles in the retention of information. The curriculum we use, Power Xpress, offers eight different ways to present material. The Biblical stories come alive through art, computers, cookery, games, music, science, storytelling and video. Each week, children in grade-level classes travel to different stations to experience the story in a new way. Some stations are taught by adult members of the congregation, some by middle schoolers, some by university students. Each station uses one of our specially decorated rooms which you can visit in the virtual tour.
Preschool children learn in a more traditional classroom taught by an adult volunteer using the Presbyterian Church (USA) curriculum We Believe.
If you have any questions, please email Betsy Thompson or call at 292-2063.
ClubCPC (Wednesday Afternoon):
ClubCPC Wednesday afternoons during the school year our Kindergartners through fifth graders assemble at the church for a couple of hours of Bible study, recreation and worship skills training, capped off with a family style dinner. Dinner is prepared and cleaned up by adult volunteers from the congregation. At dinner time, we are joined by the youth of the church as they begin their evening program.
